I was wondering if my barefoot paint would have a hard time on that trail. I have heard how absolutly beautiful the trail is. I was told there is water to cross and although my horse in comfortable crossing mountain terrain, I was curoius about her need of shoes?

Hello I have ridden  Dome Rock and it is your choice to put shoes or not. We have four horses riding at one time and two have shoes and two do not. It is beautiful up there for sure. Hope to see you there.

I haven't actually ridden my horses in there yet, but we've hiked it quite a bit.  There aren't too many rocks, just the normal gravel trails of the local area, so your horse would most likely be okay as is.
Your horse will do just fine without shoes. I've ridden that for about 20 years- it use to be a vehicle road...driven it with the truck in mid winter pushing snow over the hood.  But, no problem with a barefoot horse.
thank you, i am very excited to get over there.
I've riden the Trail numberous times , and never on a shod horse. Go 4 it-- Dennis Christmas
